Charlton Explorers

Charlton Police Explorers are an opportunity for males and females between the ages 14 and 21 to experience different aspects of the law enforcement.

The following are examples of some of the areas that we have explored:

  • Aquatic enforcement
  • Aviation enforcement
  • Defensive tactics
  • Equestrian patrols
  • Firearms instruction
  • First aid
  • Searches, K-9
  • Traffic control
  • Trips to the courthouse

Careers in Law Enforcement

Many Explorers are seeking careers in law enforcement at various levels. We have provided the opportunity for Explorers to meet with and discuss the aspects of their jobs with personnel from the following jobs:

  • Bomb Squads
  • The Department of Youth Services
  • District Attorney's Office
  • Local Police Agencies
  • Massachusetts Environmental Police
  • Massachusetts State Police
  • State Police Airwing

What the Explorers Do

Explorers also have the opportunity to put their training to use. We are often called upon to assist other organizations with crowd and traffic control at public events throughout the state.

Exploring allows its members to experience a variety of social events. From camping on the Cape, and trips to Boston, to sponsoring dances at the local schools; the post provides an outlet for it's members to have fun and help the community.
