Duties
The Charlton Council on Aging (COA) is a municipal department in accordance with Mass General Laws Chapter 4, Section 8B for the purpose of coordinating and carrying out programs designed to meet the needs of aging in coordination with programs of the department of elder affairs.
Mission
The Charlton Council on Aging mission is to provide social, supportive and referral services to all senior citizens in an effort to maintain and improve quality of life so that they may stay in their homes for as long as possible.
Weekly Services
The Senior Center is open Monday through Thursday with activities scheduled each day. Our meal program is a vital part of our mission serving home-cooked lunches daily at noon for a minimum donation. In addition, To-Go lunches are available as well. We ask that people sign up or call at least a day ahead for lunch.
Funding
Funding for the Council on Aging is provided by:
- Town of Charlton
- Grants from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs
- Golden Age Club
- Charlton Cultural Council
- Donations from Local Businesses, Organizations and Individuals
