Building Inspectional Services
The Department of Building Inspection Services is open to the public;
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 730am to 5 pm, Tuesday 730am to 7 pm.
Closed each day 12 to 1230 for lunch.
The Department of Building Inspectional Services includes the Building Inspector, Gas and Plumbing Inspector, Wiring Inspector, and the Sheet Metal Inspector.
Role
The Department of Building Inspectional Services:
- Enforces the Massachusetts Building Codes, 780 Code of Massachusetts Regulations (C.M.R.)
- Assists homeowners and contractors in obtaining the proper permits for particular projects
- Oversees from start to finish all permitted projects including, conducting necessary inspections and the issuance of completion and/or occupancy certificate
- Works closely with the Zoning Enforcement Officer
