The Town Hall is closed to the public. Appointments may be made if necessary, by mutual agreement.
Permit applications may be e-mailed or left in the drop box at the accessible entrance.
We are monitoring our e-mail and phone calls.
Applications will be accepted by regular mail, or drop box outside of the Town Hall or email at Building.ZEO@townofcharlton.net.
The fee is $75.00 per inspection see the fee chart in the right hand column, checks made out to the Town of Charlton.
If you have not worked in Charlton in the past 6 months, please include a copy of your licenses and certificate of insurance.
The Inspector of Wires enforces Massachusetts Electrical Codes of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR 527 chapter 12). The regulating agency is the Board of State Examiners of Electricians. Local codes do not exist. The Gas/Plumbing Inspector falls under the Department of Building Inspectional Services.

Wiring Permits will only be issued to Licensed Electricians per the National Electrical Code National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70 article number 100.
